All of the Dauntless take a trip to the border where they can see the fence. They see people patrolling, and the initiates are told this is where they will end up if they are in the bottom five. We also discover Four was #1 when he was an initiate. Lastly, Tris talks to a friend that she had back at her old faction. Four sees this and breaks it up. Four, being full of wisdom, tells Tris that this is not wise. I don't understand what is wrong with this. A short conversation? It is harmless, so I wonder why this is prohibited.
